Deadline 11/25: Your ACC is ready to pilot its Cardiovascular Practice Recognition Program (CVRP)
The CVRP is a practice-level assessment and recognition program designed to:
Establish relevant goals and targets for cardiovascular specialists and their practices to achieve;
Provide a road map to guide performance improvement and practice transformation strategies;
Bring consistency to market by standardizing the methodology for how cardiovascular practices are assessed and recognized.
We need practices to help us test the feasibility of implementing the CVRP. If your practice is interested in participating, click on http://qualityfirst.acc.org/advocacy/Pages/CVRPCallforPractices.aspx for more information and a link to the practice profile. You must complete the practice profile on or before November 25th in order to be considered for participation in the pilot.
FOCUS Campaign
The FOCUS Campaign is engaging practices -- from the champions to the curious -- to find best practices for implementing Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC). We hope to jump start learning through this quality improvement community of ACC members and, eventually, other providers such as primary care.
Please let us know through focus@acc.org if you or your colleagues are interested in joining FOCUS.
There is a potential opportunity for interested individuals to participate in the upcoming Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) demonstration project on AUC. The project will influence payment policy at the national level as well as improve quality, and will provide participant incentives.
BOG Steering Committee
The BOG Steering Committee will meet on Tuesday, November 10, at 5:30 PM Eastern. If you have any items that you wish to bring up before BOG Steering for discussion or for informational purposes, please contact Jayne Jordan at jjordan@acc.org. In addition, if you'd like to present to the BOG-SC a "Report from the Front", a report on the work environment, legislative climate or any other issues in your state, also contact Jayne.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION
Chapter CME/CE Parameters
ACCF is now accepting requests to provide CME and/or CE certification for chapter annual meetings scheduled for January 2010 and beyond. Applications must be received no later than four (4) months prior to the activity. ACCF's online lessons and accompanying toolkit for Joint Sponsorship can be found at the College’s CME-CE Training & Resources at http://www.acc.org/education/cme_ce_training/index.htm
ACCF will continue to follow the existing Chapter CME/CE Parameters effective January 2010. Chapters will be limited to one live program per year/per chapter at no cost, and the total will be limited to available staff resources. If a chapter wishes for ACCF to certify more than one program, approval will be on a case-by-case basis, dependent on resources. Please review the Chapter CME/CE Parameters ATTACHMENT 1 - parameters.pdf for more information or contact Maria Ortiz at mortiz@acc.org.
