In late 2007, the BOT approved a new initiative to incubate new and emerging chapters during their developmental years to establish a strong foundation for these chapters. ACC staff serves as their Chapter Executive during this time period, thereby allowing them to save up reserve funds normally spent on salaries for hired staff during this incubation period. This also allows for a stronger relationship between these new chapters and ACC National, and educates chapter officers on how a chapter should function to be successful.
The chapters currently in this program are: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico and Great Plains (ND, SD). If our few remaining non-chapter states decide to institute a chapter in their region, they will also be eligible for this program. We are looking forward to when ACC members in every state will have access to the many benefits that Chapters offer.
